Lots of students think robotics is just building a kit.
Building a robotics kit doesn’t automatically make you an expert on robotics because kit often involves following pre-designed steps, limiting activation of your brain’s prefrontal cortex, which is critical for higher-order thinking and problem-solving.

The brain needs multiple attempts and the opportunity to learn from failure to fully encode expertise. (Brains prefer the opportunity to subtract -- to deduct -- the wrong possibilities.)
Building a kit usually follows a linear path that avoid several possible failure (but custom-made-for-you-learning) points, offering little chance for your brain to weed out existing bad thinking models.

Cognitive flexibility, or the ability to switch between different concepts or approaches, is a hallmark of expertise. Following a step-by-step instruction doesn’t challenge the brain to develop this mental agility. Rote memorization is not learning.

This moment is similar to the state you experience just before falling asleep, when your mind is wandering freely and ideas seem to pop up out of nowhere.
Suddenly, after the quiet moment, there’s a BURST of activity in the areas linked to language and understanding, meaning your brain is putting the words together to express your new inner sight!

Imagine learning is like riding a bike. When the road is flat and easy, you don’t need to work as hard, and your muscles stay the same. But when you ride uphill, your muscles grow stronger over time.
The same thing happens in your brain. When you challenge yourself with hard tasks, your brain strengthens its pathways by adding myelin, a protective layer that helps information travel (jump over) faster, just like building stronger muscles for biking. The more you push your brain, the quicker and better it becomes at handling tough challenges.
ENTRAINMENT:
We develop robotics challenges that elicits clusters of neurons to "lock-in" on coordinated (use your body and your mind) activities. This makes our class unique, purposely-built to steer your student into a desired, focused mental state.
AWARENESS THROUGH ROBOTICS:
Each decision you make on the robot affects its whole. So do you know what you are doing, when you are doing it? That is the highest form of brain function we train. This is what it truly means to be human.
